Over 6 million profit in the half year, innovative projects, conquering foreign markets – this is how you can shortly describe the current situation of Ursus. The famous company that has for years been synonymous with simple equipment for farmers, is now working on electric buses. What is more, they send tractors to Ethiopia.

Exactly 6.88 million PLN was Ursus profit in the first half of 2015. The result is 6.73 million better comparing to the previous year. Sales of tractors grew  300% Y2Y. Demand for Polish product was so big that the company was sometimes not able to deliver  orders on time.

The cause of both – delays and great results – is a contract with Ethiopia. All the forces were focused on its implementation. The company is about to provide three thousand tractors. Polish tractors gained such popularity in Africa because they are not too sophisticated technologically. They are adapted to extreme weather conditions. What is more, if something breaks down, farmers are able to repair them on their own.

At the same time Ursus also boosted sales in Poland – revenues increased about 64 % in comparison to previous year.

Wish characterized by it low profile, have been founded in 2011 by Piotr Szulczewski and had already refused one huge offer proposed by the giant Amazon. What was the offer? 10,000,000,000$ in cash. You might think that the owners are crazy but in reality the company is promise to a brilliant future.

Wish already raised 600 millions $ in 5 rounds from 30 investors  and is valued at 3 billions by it’s investors.

Why Amazon would propose so much money? It is in their strategy to “eliminate” possible competitors; they buy all the companies that might cause some trouble in the future.

CEO of Wish, Piotr Szulczewski, believe that his startup can grow to 100 billions grow sales, then the company will worth more than 10 billions in that case it justify the refusal of Amazon offer.

Wish work with complex algorithms that actually match the consumer with the product he likes. For instance if a merchant have 100 red shoes to sell, Wish will point out red shoes to people that already have red shoes in their wish list.

By 2019 it is predicted that worldwide there will be 5,07 billions mobile users  this can make you think on how many users might be interested by purchasing items via Wish application. Wish it’s like having Alibaba on your smartphone, with very low prices.

Wish already have more than 100 millions active users and 100,000 merchant worldwide.

All of us have started getting used to people wearing tech devices. After Apple Watch and Google Glass we are not surprised with new wearables. But the latest innovation can amaze anybody. Developed by software design and development firm Chaotic Moon in Texas, this device enables tracking health data.

Chaotic Moon has called the device Tech Tats. It is being made with conductive paint and special components which make it possible to gather and send the data regarding human body.

As the firm describes, “Tech Tats are what we’ve dubbed biowearables: wearable technology that isn’t just, say, strapped to the user’s wrist, but interacts with their wrist. (In this case, in the form of a tattoo.) In other words, you’re eliminating clunky, expensive devices with a low-interference, low-cost, and low-hassle alternative, and using the user’s skin as the interface. It’s technology that is, in a sense, part of the user. The result? Total integration.”

Technologists from Chaotic Moon state that the new tattoo will collect the information and notify about the earliest fever signs, heart rates and other health indicators.

Another interesting aspect is that this way you can also carry your credit card details and your ID – straight under your skin. Plus, the tattoo always acts as a GPS.

Imagine how easier life could be if we could quickly find people who get lost, make sure we are in good health and forget about carrying IDs or credit cards.

Sounds quite unrealistic for the nearest future. Or is it only my opinion?

The world of people with devices under their skin seems quite scary. What would be the next step? Tatoo that enables control of the person’s actions? Let’s just hope that our bright future will bring us only those innovations that will benefit humans’ life and peace on Earth.

Top tech billionaires Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos and some others announced that they are associating to fight with climate change with a new partnership called the Breakthrough Energy Coalition. Their timing could not be better. The timing of the announcement coincided with the global climate conference. The group’s members have committed to use a notable portion of their hundreds of billions of dollars to invest in early stage clean energy companies.

Zuckerberg wrote a Facebook post announcing the partnership. In the post, Zuckerberg noticed that clean energy can solve  many of the world’s problems. ‘Solving the clean energy problem is an essential part of building a better world,’ he wrote. ‘We won’t be able to make meaningful progress on other challenges—like educating or connecting the world—without secure energy and a stable climate.’

There is no word yet on how much the members of the coalition plan to invest. However, they say they will fund startups in a range of industries, from agriculture to transportation and electricity storage.
