There millions of products all over the world. Every day humans invent something new. Some of this innovations are amazing business ideas that make people spend thousands of dollars on a one product or a service. But not everyone is able to introduce and implement really good things. It is much easier to make a copy and sold it as a real instance. As the result of such manipulation suffered not only customers that use not as good and as qualitive thing that they expected but also companies that do not get that profit that they could. Recently, one of the IBM researchers during the Think 2018 in Las Vegas introduce an idea on how to tackle the problem. He present a new technic called Crypto-anchors.
IBM claim that the new cryptographic anchors are the smallest computers that exist in the world right now.
Interestingly:
- the product is smaller than even a seed ;
- consist of several hundred thousand transistors;
- cost of production is no more than 10 cents;
- is able monitoring, analyzing, communicating.
- IBM approvesthat the first prototype could be available for customers during the next 18 months.[1]
“They’ll be utilized with a blockchain’s dispersed record innovation to guarantee a protest’s credibility from its purpose of starting point to when it achieves the hands of the client,” said Arvind Krishna, head of IBM Research.[2]These devices provide a new possible way out for issues such nourishment wellbeing, authenticity of manufactured components, genetically adjusted items, identification of counterfeit objects and provenance of lextravagance goods.
There is no particular opinion on have they should look like. There are a lot of prototypes that can but used for different purpose and each crypto-anchor will be different from another.
For example, one of the interesting way to use the device is the magnetic inc that will be covered a malaria pills. People can identify the real one according to the color and code that would be visible when the pill will be under the water or using a miniature computers. [3]
From my perspective, fraud is an enormous problem that need a real solution. The idea is good, but on that stage I am not able to say that it is a successful one. If everything works out, I think the device will be widely spread cause it can guarantee customer safetyand prevent unfair fraud.
