MindMe – application for psychotherapy

The number of people suffering from depression is constantly increasing in Poland. MindMe is the first application on Polish market which offers professional help and permanent access to therapist online without commuting or making an appointment. The founders guarantee anonymity and discretion while using secure encrypted communication.

At present, over 9,000 people use this application – it is in practice for anyone seeking the help of a specialist psychologist or psychotherapist. The founders aim at people who do not have time, conditions – or simply do not feel the need yet, or are ashamed to go to a stationary office. They give the opportunity to talk to a professional on your own terms – in the comfort of your apartment, on a tram, during a break at work – which allows you to get advice much earlier, before the situation gets worse, and at the same time teaches you to deal with problems.

    Nowadays it is a huge problem as more and more people struggle with mental health problems. The biggest issue is that an appointment with a psychologist is often wrongly associated with something bad. That is why I think this app can be really helpful for those who are afraid of being judged by other people around them.
    Although, my only concern is whether it is definitely safe. I think I’m not the only one worried about it. That is maybe why it is not very known for now.
    However, I’m sure that if they come up with a way of promoting it and ensuring users of its safety, it can be a good way to start your therapy. What’s more, even if you don’t have some specific metal health problems but just a bad day and you feel hopeless it is good to be able to talk with someone from “outside” who can listen to you and help you feel better.
