PlayStation 5

Reading Time: 2 minutes

About one month ago Sony launched Ps5 – the 5th edition of the gaming console PlayStation. The launch turned out to be a great commercial success. According to Sony, they set a new first month sales  record of PlayStation.  The demand for the product was huge due to two factors. Firstly, the last premiere of PS took place 7 years ago and the fans, after a few trailers, which showed new games with very advanced graphs were really hyped to get the new console. Secondly, the situation with pandemic forced people to stay at home most of the time and video games became one of the few entertainment options. The shortage of supply and increased demand led to the ridiculous situation when people started to buy PS5 just to resell it later. The new PS5 completely overtakes its predecessor in 8k graphic, NVMe SSD and also Dual Sense controller and many more which comes with the new edition. Due to enhanced specs and features games become more fascinating and also the whole process of playing is much more satisfactory. The price for it is quite reasonable. You have to pay about 2300 zł for it. The main issue is price of the games- 250/300zl. For people who are afraid of losing their old games for PS4 the good news is that PS5 is backwards compatible with PS4 software so you will be able to download games that you bought for PS4 and play them on  PS5

The PS5 is a good example of the future of gaming. But the real question is, are the first party developers going to truly take advantage of the PS5’s capabilities to exceed the customer’s expectations? We can only wait and see.

Probably the majority of players will buy the PS5 for next-generation gaming. Even despite the fact that frame rates are no higher here than from the Xbox. In this case it’s more about new, game-changing user experience.

When it comes to new playstation edition, the most of money goes to buying games, similarly to release of ps4. Now controllers are also expensive. Thing to consider, is that sony won’t be making any more playstation editions.

I am not a big console fan, but design and performance of PS5 for that price amazes me. I also love the backwards compatibility with PS4, it is a great feature.
