Virtual Fashion Shows

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In the era of COVID-19 every industry has suffered. One of them is the fashion industry. People buy less because they do not go out, but the high fashion crowd and fashion pieces collectors are still hunting for the newest are rarest garments. After months of quarantining some fashion houses decided to go back to work.

But how can they show the newest collections without risking other peoples health ?

Well, they introduced virtual seats on fashion shows. Only the people that really had to be there, like models, photographers and staff members were present in real life. Other people like influencers, celebrities and other invited fashion lovers got a virtual seat. Some fashion houses went for the traditional way of doing it, it this case the guest list was just much shorter due to safety precautions.

Those who were invited to the virtual ones received invitations and goody bags delivered to their home. They got a special password to gain access to front row sight of the show. On some they could dress up in their samples (garments borrowed from the brand for a limited period of time) or in pieces form their own collection and have their camera on. This way they could be seen by those who were present at the physical show.

I have never been to any fashion show, but I think that virtual versions will never be equal to those in real life. Also, I believe that fashion show is like football or basketball mach. Durning that moment you feel unique atmosphere which arouse excitement, even if you are not a fan.

  2. Siczek Patryk says:

They are trying to make people brainless machines which will not leave their house bcs they have shows, sport games or movies at home. It’s completely pointless if you want to watch it you got yt if you want to feel the atmosphere, be the part of it just go there.

    • Angotti Sandra says:

Right now it’s not like you can attend something that involves thousands or hounders of people. We should be reasonable here. the virtual ones will never replace the real ones. But they are somewhat of an alternative.

  3. Zhukova Mariia says:

It is better to host a fashion show in such a way than do not have it at all. But nevertheless, people are missing the atmosphere of the events, face-to-face communication and real emotions. Hope people will enjoy fashion shows in person very soon.

  4. Stefański Michał says:

This looks like a really good idea, but only if real shows will not be possible to be organised because of eg. Coronavirus. Real atmosphere of shows like that is not present when there is no one around you. They will not replace real shows, but they are a great alternative for now.

  5. Łoboda Zofia says:

It’s a really great idea. Designer’s work won’t be in vain, because they will be able to present it. But it will never be the same as a live show.

  6. Ciepielewska Aleksandra says:

Watching a game live is completely different than watching it on TV, at least for me. Probably the same with a fashion show.
