Have you ever noticed that ways of listening to music have been changing through the years? It’s likely that your first experience with music, when you were younger, was not like the present one. Nowadays you can have all types of music on one electronic device called a smartphone. What is more, there is an app Spotify which helps us find an unlimited number of songs. Such applications offer us various options not always necessary till we find them to be useful. Spotify, for instance, offers a summary of what you have been listening to throughout the year.

The music app collects various data and at the end of every year releases a summary of the year. You can find information like your top 5 music performers, your favorite songs, minutes you have spent listening to music, or your favorite music type. Such data can be awakening feelings. Finally, you can see if you like calmer music or more energetic one. Consequently, you can reflect on whether your tastes have changed. As a funny fact Spotify this year recognized flow of the music and you could see if you were listening to aggressive music or relaxing one and based on that it created an image which illustrate color of your aura.
I think that Spotify’s idea met with success because it is normal that people are changing and this concept can help in it. Half of the success is understanding what has changed. Isn’t it wonderful what human evolution has done with every aspect of our lives?
I have noticed lately that a large number of my friends started posting their Spotify wrapped which sums up the user’s minutes listened, their top 5 favorite songs and their favorite artists. If you think about it, it’s a smart marketing strategy because people keep wanting to share their own results when they see their immediate circle doing it. Plus it’s somewhat intriguing to know some cool facts about your music taste. Overall, I think it’s beneficial for both sides and an awesome idea!
I do agree with you 100%. Your point of view is great. I’m cheerful about your comment. 🙂
I personally listen to a lot of music on Spotify and this year I had more than 30 000 minutes spent listening to my favorite songs.
I think it’s a great option, because when you listen many songs in the year you can forget which of them you like and not. There comes the summary of the year which can show you which song you liked a lot and you can listen to it again. A year it’s a long period of time, so we all can forget what we were used to like and it’s sometimes very funny to see which music we were listening to.
