The mouse has a built-in 1 TB SSD. You can install anything on it

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Taiwanese company ADATA, showed the XPG gaming mouse with built-in 1TB storage. On this SSD with a speed of 985 MB/s, gamers will be able to store their games. The mouse is wired, connected to a computer via USB-C. In theory, using it as an external drive with installed games is quite possible.

Another question: in what user scenarios is this even necessary? ADATA has not yet given a clear answer to it.
Although the product was only announced and there is no exact information on it yet, i can already share my opinion that this gadget makes no sense. I can suppose that it is going to be heavier and way much more expensive than other gaming mouses. I assume that carrying a flash drive is much easier than plugging and unplugging your mouse time to time.

Seems like you can switch your games throw desired devices quite easily now!

    Great post!

This seems to me like one of those products that seem promising at first but absolutely flop after being released. As you mentioned, a 1 TB SSD would definitely make the mouse on the heavy side as well as increase the price significantly. Who knows maybe XPG will surprise us with the price and the weight, but until then, I’m not convinced.

I remember that in 2018 Samsung had earbuds with built-in memory and, as we can see, they do not do that anymore. So I’m skeptical about the usefulness of a mouse with SSD as well

Back when I was a kid I tired to copy files from one computer to another by clicking copy on one, unplugging the mouse and then plugging it back in into another before clicking paste. Didn’t work then, but maybe it will now!

That seems almost as bizarre as buying smart fridge to pay games on it. Fun and original idea, looks like it is a combination of flash drive and a mouse, but I doubt it has any practical use, since it’s so easy to transfer data nowadays.
