Sony is a Japanese tech company that is known for products like PS consoles, TV or soundbars. But during the CES conference in Las Vegas, Kenichiro Yoshida, Sony’s chief executive presented the prototype of the Vision-S car. The plan itself was announced two years ago, but two days ago everyone could see for themselves this technological marvel.

This car has very impressive stats – it accelerates from 0-100 in 4,8s, is powered by two electric engines with a combined power of 400kW. The maximum speed is 240km/h. When it comes to safety issues, Sony took them to heart by installing 40 sensors (18 cameras, 18 radars, and 4 LiDAR sensors). The company has declared creating a subsidiary, Sony Mobility Inc., and is looking toward entering the car industry permanently.

Whaat? It’s very interesting. I mean Sony has had phones and now their cars. It impossible how everything develops. However I think it’s creative because now they won’t be just recognised because of phones. Also the stats are quite impressive. Im looking forward to see how it evolves.
This looks intriguing. I honestly would like to see one in person. However how does it compare to regular car? Is it less durable, or less expensive or faster and easier to produce?
Very interesting! It is good to hear that so many companies are introducing electric vehicles right now. Actually, I recently found out that Huawei will start producing electric cars as well, and is about to become the greatest competitor of Tesla. By the way, it is very fascinating that electronics companies will start producing electric cars! But that is not a surprise, since now it is said that cars are computers on four wheels that require complicated softwares. So who, if not electronics companies could have better knowledge about it. I think that is the future of automative industry and more and more electronics companies will have their own electric vehicles. Thanks for the article!
Judging by traditional Japanese vehicles, this amazing piece of software and steel holds great future for us, should be another yet high quality Japanese made product.
I think Sony has a good chance to conquer the car market
