Neymar joins NFT community

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Neymar is by far the most famous person to own NFT. On Jan 20, he announced on Twitter his purchase by tweet as well as changing his profile picture. NFT he bought is the Bored Ape 6633. The price was 159.99 ETH which is $481.6k.

There is one more! In fact, he bought 2 NFTs. The second one is the Bored Ape 5269, bought for 189.69 ETH ($570k).

For now, NFTs are mostly art, and hugely speculative, but with the development of the metaverse, they might become more and more useful. We don’t know yet, how big the metaverse will be, but the future is highly promising for that space. More and more game development companies enter the market.

Twitter launched NFT verification, so users can no longer ‘screenshot’ images and claim them as their own. So the value will increase even more. Personally, I’m quite excited about the future of this market.

I cannot believe that people want to buy a few pixels. This is a type of investing money on trends that will collapse soon. Many influencers want to join this stupid and useless industry. For me, it is only about making money on people that don’t realize that it is a waste of money.

It is Amazing how NFT attracts such celebrities

I think buying NFT is not about art itself. It is pretty much about community, and often exlusive things you may obtain due to them. The fact is that most projects will go to zero, as it is always like that witch innovations. However, I believe some top projects will keep exist. Bored Ape are just an example of a place where on parties you can meet top famous celebrities and business people. But I am not sure if Neymar is the most famous person to have an NFT. I know that Justin Bieber owns some of them (which are not Bored Apes) and he may be more known than Neymar.

You know I have to say I have a hard time believing that there are grown men out there paying for a couple of pictures of an artificially generated monkey. It seems like a modern-day blockchain MLM scam

it’s amazing how people can pay so much money just to own a piece of art that they didn’t even make themselves. and this money could have been spent in so many more productive ways

People really interests in NFT and crypto currency now, because it became much easier to buy something or to sell

For me, NFT’s are only for trading and making money off of them. I don’t see any art in them especially as of how easy it is to just copy them.

From my point of view, NFT are massively overrated, as they are by no means a technology which really makes a change. For now, they are mostly a high-risk, high-gain way of making money. It’s no wonder, that some of the critics consider it as a just a speculation bubble.
