We have already seen foldable phones, bikes and much other stuff, but have you seen a foldable car? If not, Lakota is an innovative car that can fold itself! The car is still kind of a concept but is rumoured to come out to the market in the quantity of 1200 in 2023. It is an electric car, that is designed for city driving, but the most interesting part of this particular model is that It can fold itself! The main reason for this feature is to save space. Three of Lakota’s cars can fit in 1 parking lot. Also, the small size of it allows you to park almost everywhere. To start folding all you need to do is click one button and Lakota will fold itself and reduce its size from 3 meters to 2! Another feature is that you don’t get outside the car by sides like in most cars. The front windshield is not only a windshield but also a door which you use to enter or exit the car. What’s more, is a really fast charging battery that can get to 100% from 20% in just 15 minutes. The range of the battery is 250km and the car’s weight with it is 580kg. Lakota’s maximum speed is 90kph because as I mentioned before it is designed to be driven in the cities, not on highways or race tracks. It is also worth mentioning that Lakota’s wheels can turn at 90°. So it makes it even easier to park in any situation. The small size of Lakota allows it to fit only 2 people inside.

That’s an interesting concept, yet I can’t help but wonder whether it will be useful. First of all, the design and the visuals of the car don’t really make me feel the need to buy it, second of all, after a while I think the owners will stop using the “folding feature” perhaps out of laziness or simply because the car is already small enough, it can technically park in many places and doesn’t need to be folded. Therefore, I believe this concept will not succeed out on the market, but I guess it’s worth a try.
I would say that overall idea of this car is pretty interesting, but I don’t think that anyone would be willing to actually drive this car. I don’t believe that the design of this car is appealing to anyone, hence it’s already on a losing spot. Furthermore, I’d say that if people want a small vehicle, they would rather buy a motorcycle instead of this vehicle.
