What is WLD
World Coin is the project from OpenAI founder Sam Altman. It is project where AI meets crypto. In the simple words the startup uses orbs to scan people’s eyes in exchange for a digital ID and some cryptocurrency.
Concept and mission of the WorldCoin?
Worldcoin was founded with the mission of creating a globally-inclusive identity and financial network, owned by the people. Worldcoin consist of three key elements: World ID, World APP and Worldcoin (WLD). Once Worldcoin has received a unique iris scan, the project issues a digital identity called a World ID. The World App is the repository for your World ID. The app functions as a crypto wallet, but its primary purpose is to store user credentials so that users can verify themselves on any third-party application. And Once users create a World ID and download the World App, they get access to the WLD cryptocurrency token.
Privacy Concerns
Critics argue that collecting iris scans, even if the data is not stored or directly linked to the World ID, poses potential risks for hacking. The use of biometrics in this manner might be seen as intrusive, making it a contested point between personal privacy and participation in this new financial ecosystem.
Legal Landscape
Worldcoin also faces different kinds of global regulations governing cryptocurrencies. Achieving universal acceptance could be a challenging task. For example, in regions like the US, where the legal framework around cryptocurrencies is still being shaped, Worldcoin’s potential benefits might be limited.
Conclusion

However, the real question is whether Worldcoin can fulfill its promises amidst the criticisms and challenges it faces.
In my opinion project need more time to adapt for our realities. Humanity in general are hesitant to pass on sensitive information to a commercial projects. Plus the most important point for WLD is to meet all regulations from the government. Unfortunately, I could not see how world accept this technology in the near future. But only future will show.
