In this blog post I want to explore how AI impacts art. But to start…
- How to even create AI art?
Well, there are many wasy to do this. The most popular way is puting a text prompt to Ai image generator and after a few secs you get an image (example below). There are many sities you can use as Gencraft, DeepAI, Pixlr.

or even from simple shapes to image! Basically you draw simple shapes like circles and AI image generator gives you a masterpiece.
There are many other ways as putting a real picture of an object and AI changes it, using negative prompt weights, creating an image by expaning an already exisiting one.
But more about, the business context of AI in art. And if you want to read more about techinical part how AI creates art basing on data sets and how it mixes the pixels to create something new what this – https://youtu.be/SVcsDDABEkM?si=obaMSNGYdHPF5TFb
- Lets think about the job market of artists.
So, nowadays anyone can create art (even tho AI generated art). So do we still need artists? or are they going to disappear? Is it even worthy to become a traditional artist in the era of AI?
Let me start by telling a story. One day I was scrolling through Instagram and came across an account that sells their art. Out of curiosity, I checked out their work. They were really well done, it looked like they knew a lot about creating conceptual graphics, colour theory and so on. They also sell their art as artist commissions, so I understand they have some kind of business. However, when I read what they wrote underneath their posts, it appeared that all their art was AI art. A lot of people in the comments were angry at this person because it’s AI art, anyone can do it, they shouldn’t take money for it and so on. Later I did some research, visited more artists’ accounts on ig and saw that many of them expressed their opinion about AI art. The conclusion is that many of the human artists I came across are against AI-generated art, saying that they had to spend many hours to learn how to draw and create art, and yet they don’t earn as much as AI artists who generate an image in seconds and make a lot of money. There are also accounts that promote human artists to combat AI artists.
Well, I understand the fact that human artists may be against AI art because it doesn’t require the same skills, for example, small Instagram artists may feel angry that they put so much effort to get at least one commission, while Ai artists just generate it and get more likes, commissions and so on. But I think artists shouldn’t forget that they can benefit from AI-generated images. They can put a hint of what they want to draw, generate 10 images and get inspiration from them.
Moreover, I believe that concept artists will not disappear, at least now. It takes so much more than just generate an image to create eg new caracter for a game like their background, whole lore, characters personality.
- Looking at this from a business context …
It’s fair to say that if artists don’t keep up with the revolution in the way art is created, they may struggle. It takes hours or even days to create a single piece of art, such as a graphic for a game. Using AI artists can speed up the process. As I mentioned earlier, they can take inspiration from AI-generated images, which speeds up the process of thinking about and creating an entire character from scratch. They can be inspired by interesting perspectives, clothes, facial characteristics. So they can take on more commissions, they can create more products, so they can make more money, but they need to be skilled, so this job market remains the same, artists need to be skilled and have a certain amount of knowledge – not everyone and not so quickly can become a concept artist. To succeed as an artist, you should definitely look at the opportunities of the changing world and new technologies and take advantage of them. Moreover, businesses may be sceptical to hire only AI artists as it is very controversial, so the human artists will not disapear for now. If businesses would hire only AI artists it would drastically change the job market leading to lose of jobs of human artists therefore if youre an artists it is important to keep up with the news how and who the companies hire to react it if turn out that ai artists become more popular.

The emergence of AI in art represents a fascinating intersection of technology and creativity, showcasing how traditional art forms must evolve to embrace new trends like the metaverse, where AI-generated images could play a pivotal role. While AI offers impressive capabilities in generating and enhancing art, it’s crucial to acknowledge the unique value of human imagination in the creative process. AI may not originate concepts from sheer creativity as humans do, ensuring that art purely crafted by human hands retains its unique appeal and irreplaceable value in a world increasingly influenced by technology.
