Bookmaking is a well-known way of gambling; however experienced bettors can tip the scale of odds in their favor. If human being is able to do that, imagine what AI is capable of!
Well… if only it worked that way
Let’s begin with a fact that using AI to make your bets might be forbidden. As Betpack says “Some jurisdictions may have legal restrictions on AI sports betting systems”.
Regardless of that, AI should technically guarantee a profit. Their conception of it is an efficient money printer, that works as good as you “treat it”. Alongside the tempting pros of these tools, there are generalized cons such as: reliabity on data, cost of algorithm (license i suposse), probability of overlooking factors, expiring of data, and propability of “legal and regulatory restrictions”.
Despite calling themself “experts”, they skipped a really crucial fact. AI can be influenced. And it can be influenced not only by developers, but also by users.
Gambling obviously comes with hazards, so let’s say that a bettor is capable of taking risks. But the real question is: are they capable of taking risks based on unknown variables that might be manipulated to maximize their losses? And what if the early winning bets are just bait to gain the trust of bettors, allowing for more profit in the long term?
That’s a question that everyone should think through because it applies not only to bookmakers and AI; it reaches as far as social life.
