Middle East continue enforcing their football industry

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We have saw throughout the past years that countries from the middle east such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia try to transform their economy moving into entertainment and tourist industries(especially football) in order to become less dependent on oil. IN the recent years Qatar hosted a around 220 billion dollar World cup which in my opinion was a huge success for football decreasing racism, drug abuse, drinking and also increasing cultural bonding. Saudi Arabias huge investments in the Saudi league has made them the host of the world cup in 2034. Their stadium and training ground have became very innovative and stunning attracting viewers, football fans and world class football players to join the league.

This has caused a mayor sense of jealousy and critique from countries such as united kingdom, brazil, Germany. It has been stated that some workers that where building the stadiums in Qatar died due to bad working conditions. I have to disagree with that as in 2014 the world cup in Brazil or the London 2012 Olympics were actually unprofitable for the countries. The middle east is and opportunity for football as these countries have insanely high amounts of money to invest in such events which would not result in social issues. There is no reason for critiquing the middle east for wanting to become less oil dependant and trying out different industries. football is know to be a sport for everyone and actually the middle east was usually unspoken about in terms of football.

You can argue that Saudis are trying to cover up their oil dependency and want a different reputation. This is probably what tilts the western countries. As already mentioned that culturally and in terms of good behaviour which is critical in football the Qatar World Cup was a huge success. The bad side was about worker dying however the western media has actually faked information about the death poll of workers by a high amount which is a miss information, manipulating people to dislike the middle east football community.

Middle east high budget for technological and infrastructure advancements is a solution for improving the overall performance of world football. The football industry will become more competitive causing economic growth all around the world. It also gives opportunities from very low income African and Asian players to play in the Saudi league which leads to changing lives for many talented individuals. The way the West is critiquing at such a high level is simply unfair as countries need to globalise and work together not focusing on having football events away from such areas. The middle east also understands the issue with oil production which made them realise that they need to shift to other forms of profitability. Saudis have the money for that and they can have a very positive economic and social impact on football all around the globe.

Middle Eastern nations like Qatar and Saudi Arabia are using football to reduce oil dependency, fostering cultural exchange and economic growth. While challenges like worker rights exist, their investments offer global opportunities and reshape football’s future.
