Framework laptop

The framework is a newly developed firm. In 2020 framework was an established working company with one goal in mind. To make a reusable laptop that can be compared to any other laptop on the market.

In 2021 Framework came out with their first generation of laptops called the framework laptop quite an original name but it worked. As the company really only has one product the name did not matter as much but the laptop itself does. This laptop changed everything in the world of laptops as in 2021 it was awarded the top 100 inventions of 2021. 

Why did it change the laptop industry well this laptop was made for it to be changeable and repairable by any person with a bit of knowledge of laptops and computers. In this, the laptop can be bought only once. If you need something faster or different you can buy all the parts from them and change them yourself per the firm’s intentions. The chassis of the laptop was made for it to have changeable ports which I think is an amazing idea as people need different ports depending on their job and personal use.

As of 2022, they let out an upgrade for the laptop which is the 12th gen Intel CPU. now let us say you would like to upgrade you can choose any i5 or i7 latest CPU from intel and change it yourself. As you might think this might be a hard job to do but the framework gives you all the instructions with pictures on how to do it yourself and also have videos for those visual learners. It is also possible not only to make a change inside of the laptop but also outside you can change the keyboard and even the frame of the screen to personalize your own working machine. 

Many people have helped this company with large sums of money and today they are really building a name for themselves, in my opinion, it is a threat to others as HP is doing the same thing which is giving detailed instructions on how to repair your laptop. 

It has taken too long for companies (apple) to have a monopoly on us with their products. This company is overdue with its idea I hope it all goes well for them and I’m tempted to buy their laptop but I only have one problem they don’t sell to the country I live in but as I stay updated with them they expanded to many countries in Europe this year so this might just be a time problem for me.

Electric cars produce more pollution than gasoline cars. Ever?

Today electric cars are being pushed into the world car market to make it more environmentally friendly for people to travel. Its theory is for people to buy electric cars to travel and make less pollution. But are cars the main reason for polluting in the first place yes they are everywhere but are electric cars the solution? 

The world is ready for electric cars but can the producing keep up with it? Batteries are seen to be the biggest issue with better technology their production is rapid. But batteries are the most damaging stage of the production procedure in cars. The production of batteries starts with lithium mines that are mostly located in Chile, Canada, and Australia then the raw material is transported to Europe for cleaning and mixed to make lithium for its final stage to being made into batteries. But for the production of clean lithium batteries, the material has to be transported again from Europe to china where the biggest producers of batteries are. This procedure does not sound clean to me with all of the transport happening. But looking at the long run this is definitely an option to make the world cleaner. 

Looking at what will power these batteries is another problem that we face. These called green sources of power have mixed ideas of eco-friendly. Wind turbines can be a case when a lot of people sed that to produce a wind turbine makes more damage then it will produce this is not true but except one aspect of the producing the amount of concrete to place a wind turbine is huge and the production of that is great and as we know producing such specific concrete is very deadly for the idea of being eco-friendly. We all get to listen to the ideas of everything and how good it will be in the future but why don’t they tell us how it affects us now so what if in 100 years it will be better were in a situation where in need of change right now. Looking at sea transport for the raw, not raw, and final product of the batteries is one of the main transport to move such large quantities of the material because of the high demand to produce the batteries. Looking at statistics container ships account for 18% of air emissions but the problem here is that they do not take into account a very important aspect. What if the ship sinks? Sinking a ship affects the whole world because of all of the toxins that are not contained and leak into the whole sea, not just the area where the ship sank. 

The sinking ship is not a rare occasion between 2011 and 2020, 348 cargo ships sank, 40 chemical and product tankers sank, 37 Ro-ro ships sank and 35 container ships sank. The listed ships are the ones that make the biggest change in climate damage but the list goes on.

this is not a small number as each has a huge amount of toxins on board which would take many years to undo the damage but there’s nothing really happening to attack this damage done by the biggest corporations and firms around the world. 

 Another aspect of pollution is our consumption. Today we are pushed to have new technology the newest clothes everything new but what happens to the old things that we don’t use yes there are recycling procedures but there’s a limit to how an item can be recycled. Clothes are sent to poor countries and delt there which is not the worse idea but what about other items? Something like a phone is only 15% reusable. Look how many phones there are today and how much waste is involved. buying a new smartphone every year is a norm for many people because there’s a new model that comes out. We don’t look anymore at do we need this function of design to make our life easier only we look at” that is new we need it” and that is our problem. I don’t blame society but I do blame the corporations that push these new items if they dint look at making profits only to make sustainable money and make eco-friendly products, producing it would help the environment but then you would say that people would lose jobs, that’s the loop that I can’t find any information about. 

So looking back at if electric cars are the soluting to pollution I say yes but in the long run, definitely will not make a change today we have many different aspects to look at first then cars which could be taken as just another way to make more money with an eco-friendly change in theory.

Justin Trudeau’s plan to control the media in Canada

On November 18, 2018, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau planned “An act to amend the broadcasting act and to make consequential amendments to other acts” this means the Canadian government would control all media. But because of Covid-19, this was moved to another date. On June 2022, Bill C-11 went true in the Canadian parliament and became law in Canada.

Bill c-11 will let CRTC(Canadian radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) controls the media posted in all of Canada. The point of this is to have cleaner content on the Canadian internet. C-11 is all about controlling what is posted, Anything that has to do with Youtube, Tiktok, Spotify, and more media that can influence people. The idea of this is for people to have more Canadian content from media outside of the TV. As more people don’t watch TV news at home and rely on gathering media from other sources the Canadian government wants to regulate people that upload would have to include some Canadian content/information. Anything to do with racism or feminism would be blocked from being posted or listened to. CRTC also has the power to impose a financial penalty for people and businesses that would post something that is against the law in Canada. Many YouTubers made videos that this law made them have to move out of the country to continue their channels most of them say “that it is not fair that they have to implement something that they don’t believe is right”.

 Is this something we should implement everywhere in the world to have better, cleaner content for people? Can you agree with this new law that has been forced in Canada on the people because of safety? 

I see this as another method of control over people. I don’t see how there is any more freedom in Canada after this law. Where the freedom of speech that Canada and America were known as. (Not going to include America in this because they’re not part of this law) but why is Canada not letting people be able to show and say their beliefs? We all know the problems we have today,  but not letting people say what they will let you say is the answer to the elimination of our society’s problems? What if this would be used to least say change your mind about someone? Or give you fake news? All of their types of control for  “our safety” never work. why would this?
