China’s DeepSeek AI shakes the industry.

Reading Time: < 1 minute

DeepSeek was the most downloaded app on the US app store over the weekend. This has caused fear from the American leadership in this sector. This Ai has caused Nvidia( one of the highest growing companies for a decade) to fall down 17% by the time the US market closed on Monday, loosing around $600 billion in market value which according to bloomberg is one of the highest drops in the US stock market history.

The real issue for the US AI industry is that the Chinese DeepSeek is a very high quality AI but with lower costs. This will mean that the payed AI programs such as OpenAI settled in the US will lose their market share. Another thing that can happen is the “Brain drain” which would be caused by researchers choosing Chinese based opportunities over Silicon Valley. There is a constant tech tension between the US with China which will result in China sooner or later getting the strategic advantage.

However we can’t forget and underestimate the technological advancements that are made by the US. This is an opportunity for the US to learn from China and significantly improve there AI industry. US can simply lower the costs of the AI systems to accelerate AI adaptation in the US industries.

The real question is if the Us should cooperate with China or rather focus on competing to gain more dominance

Incoming “tide” of AI in colleges.

Reading Time: 1 minute

AI such as chatGPT has became a significantly important aspect of human education. The way the student is gaining knowledge or writing knowledge on a piece of paper has become different than in the old days. Furthermore it can give the teachers lots of help in organising and planning lessons. Basingstoke College of Technology in Hampshire has acknowledged this fact where the principle Mr Anthony Bravo commented: ” students would be foolish if they wouldn’t use it.”

This AI world we live in actually requires students to easily use AI as in their future jobs they everybody will use it. In someway this makes students have better factual information which causes to them to be efficient in their schools or workplace. But on the other hand it is important that they dont use it to write their assignments that should take couple of hours but AI does it in literally 2 minutes. They could use it to have a starting point of an assignment this can as already mentioned make them more efficient and reliable.

The question is if it is a step to far? Or we need to adapt the students as the future will be different? In my opinion we have to notice how fast the AI industries all over the world are growing especially in China and the US. This might cause a demand from firms for their workers to use AI which might actually mean that teachers should show secondary and high school students how to use it properly.

This is what is meant by the incoming tide as if we wont adapt even secondary students the tide will wash you over. The world has changed as a whole which definitely will result in a change in education around the world.

The future of Real estate(WEF)

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The main goal for the Economic forums real estate community is a vision for buildings and cities to be more liveable, sustainable, resilient and affordable. The value of real estate assets exceeds global market and equity markets combined making it the worlds biggest store of wealth. There will be a switch of demand for many specific real estate options in which the world has to act upon.

For instance after the COVID-19 pandemic the many firms and workers switched into hybrid work which caused high area offices to become unused and empty. Technological advancements has resulted in seamless connectivity between remote and on-site employees. Another way of restructuring the worlds real estate is affordability. Insurance costs have increased due to climate change and extreme weather conditions such as the recent Hurricane Milton. This is a wake up call for the key pollutants to become more sustainable as extreme weather are simply due to human and physical actions. High cost insurance will cause higher real estate costs.

It is very important for the public and private sector to collaborate with each other to make the real estate more resilient, sustainable, affordable and liveable. The text by (WEF) doesn’t suggests the downside of standardisation in the public sector. By making it less complex for investors it may neglect the local nuances which potentially can lead to inefficiencies. For instance a rural area might need regulations and policies that support agricultural preservation whereas cities may need more flexible mixed-use zoning.

(WEF) needs to understand that their 4 goals they talk about come with high high costs and financial challenges. Also if the public sector manages it poorly it will lead to inefficiencies and misallocation of resources. This in the long run will decrease economic growth.

Middle East continue enforcing their football industry

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We have saw throughout the past years that countries from the middle east such as Qatar and Saudi Arabia try to transform their economy moving into entertainment and tourist industries(especially football) in order to become less dependent on oil. IN the recent years Qatar hosted a around 220 billion dollar World cup which in my opinion was a huge success for football decreasing racism, drug abuse, drinking and also increasing cultural bonding. Saudi Arabias huge investments in the Saudi league has made them the host of the world cup in 2034. Their stadium and training ground have became very innovative and stunning attracting viewers, football fans and world class football players to join the league.

This has caused a mayor sense of jealousy and critique from countries such as united kingdom, brazil, Germany. It has been stated that some workers that where building the stadiums in Qatar died due to bad working conditions. I have to disagree with that as in 2014 the world cup in Brazil or the London 2012 Olympics were actually unprofitable for the countries. The middle east is and opportunity for football as these countries have insanely high amounts of money to invest in such events which would not result in social issues. There is no reason for critiquing the middle east for wanting to become less oil dependant and trying out different industries. football is know to be a sport for everyone and actually the middle east was usually unspoken about in terms of football.

You can argue that Saudis are trying to cover up their oil dependency and want a different reputation. This is probably what tilts the western countries. As already mentioned that culturally and in terms of good behaviour which is critical in football the Qatar World Cup was a huge success. The bad side was about worker dying however the western media has actually faked information about the death poll of workers by a high amount which is a miss information, manipulating people to dislike the middle east football community.

Middle east high budget for technological and infrastructure advancements is a solution for improving the overall performance of world football. The football industry will become more competitive causing economic growth all around the world. It also gives opportunities from very low income African and Asian players to play in the Saudi league which leads to changing lives for many talented individuals. The way the West is critiquing at such a high level is simply unfair as countries need to globalise and work together not focusing on having football events away from such areas. The middle east also understands the issue with oil production which made them realise that they need to shift to other forms of profitability. Saudis have the money for that and they can have a very positive economic and social impact on football all around the globe.

Competition in delivery and e-commerce companies in Poland rise

Reading Time: 2 minutes

INPOST was a gigantic success for the Polish delivery industry as it has became more popular than other giants such as amazon, Allegro or even the public sector Poczta Polska in Poland. This has triggered a competitive rivalry between these firms on a wider scale. This was caused due to INpost coming up with the concept of parcel machines that enable consumers to pick up there packages in a very comfortable way which has really adapted for Polish consumer and even moving to countries like Spain or Germany.

Allegro is the leader of E-commerce in Poland where Amazon is more popular in the rest of Europe and Central Europe. Allegro in order to compete with Inpost they also have build these parcel machines which leads to few of them standing next to each other but being from separate firms. this has resulted in a misallocation of resources the amount of parcel machines in Poland exceeded the demand for them. This strategy was meant for Allegro to compete with INpost however it looks like people became more used to INPOST making them the leaders in Poland.

The real issue is for public sector companies such as Poczta Polska which didn’t keep up with the technological advancements that Inpost prepared . They didn’t realise the change in the delivery market switching from collecting packages in physical facilities to collecting it from a machine. Poczta Polska in order to compete right now, can rely on there physical stores, facilities and innovate them to attract more consumers. Poczta Polska has the advantage that they are set in rural areas and small towns in Poland also having many loyal customers. They are unable to compete with the parcel machines from inpost as it would look stupid to have three machines standing next to each other from 3 separate companies .

The outdated business model of Poczta Polska has resulted in them having a difficult situation as they cant copy Inpost with smart machines as it is already an over saturated market. what they can focus on is to develop their app making it more user friendly or even come up with a subscription for frequent users. Another idea is to focus on rural undeserved areas as Allegro and INpost already dominated the urban area. Lastly as it is public company they have to strengthen their relationship with the government in order to not get entirely dominated by their competitors.
