Augmented Reality – new gateway for E-commerce

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Many were exposed to augmented reality in 2016 with hit game Pokemon GO, which placed gaming animations within in the real world scenario through a smart camera lens. Augmented reality isn’t just for gaming. Over in the next few years, you will see it expand into other industries like healthcare, books, and of course augmented reality e-commerce.

With the launch of iPhone X and ARkit, Now apple can be involved in the world of augmented reality. Google has similarly been experimenting with smartphone AR  since it showed off Project TAngo in 2014.  After three years company has some great technology but very little in the way of actual users.Google is signaling a reactionary shift in its strategy by releasing a developer preview of ARCore. Google’s ARCore is the answer to   Apple’s ARKit.

So what does it mean? ARCore and ARKit are the ways independent programmers and companies can create an augmented reality for your smartphone. They are not “the apps,” but they are how one would “create the apps.”

Both Apple and Google are making AR central to their mobile experience. That means companies creating new digital customer experiences can start thinking about how to harness AR for e-commerce purposes. Brands can extend the interactive and transnational experience to customers wherever they are as long as they have a mobile device in hand.

Augmented reality eCommerce can personalize the shopping experience for your customers. AR is arranged in such a way that it will increase sales by allowing customers to try before buying and, in turn, reduce returns by removing the initial guesswork. Customers want to know what they’re purchasing and AR is helping customers become more confident in their buying decisions while providing quantifiable differences for online merchants.

Overtime there will be tools that will change fashion industry . Which will allow customers to see what clothes look like on them or that show the actual size of the furniture in your space. Instead of an online store showing models wearing clothing, Customers may even able too see themselves in all of the outfits to know which will look on them and this will bring out huge revolution in online retail industry.

So to sum up AR has the potential to deliver these personalizes services to masses. it will change the perspective of online stores that we see today by giving a personalized shopping experience , guided by a knowledgeable curator who knows an individual shoppers style ,sizes and preferences which paves way to a new world of eCommerce

OnePlus left in the cold hundreds of world media

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Even some five years ago, the phrase “Chinese phone” was associated only with something counterfeit or not good enough quality. But recently, enterprising Asians claim to be good, and even the leading smartphones. In particular, when the OnePlus project started, his main idea was – to produce the ideal machine for the price and quality, while having Chinese ancestry.

Advantages of the new brands that they have not yet developed a persistent advertising position from which they can not move a single step, and thus much easier to adapt to the market, fashion and new trends among consumers. It is easier to do something fresh and unexpected.

oppo-1

So, OnePlus launched a new and strange advertising campaign. On Facebook, company posts a post with the inscription – “We are working on the perfect gift for your friends, non-geek” and attached a photo. In the picture a black background hand holding something black, shaped like a mobile phone and an inscription – «Think different», like anything but ad dubbed scandalous. It’s all in the slogan, which formerly belonged to from Apple.

Media immediately erupted with angry articles and accusations of plagiarism. But, I think, in the PR-department of OnePlus sit not fools. It was possible to invest a lot of money in new individual slogan order very expensive company promotion, sit bite your elbows, because not all advertising has gone well. And you could do something like this, pour into Facebook, and all the world’s media do you advertise with pleasure, just sit and watch.

Incidentally, the scandalous PR on Facebook Chinese did not stop there. Then there was information that they have stolen up closer to Apple, than someone who once could afford. They decided to dress up iPhone, what proudly proclaims on its homepage.

Case for iPhone 6 and 6S for $ 19.99, which is carefully preserve gadget intact. It is made of the same plastic Black Sandstone, as the smartphone OnePlus 2 and crowned with the logo “1+”. Along with the cover comes complete invitation to purchase OnePlus X Ceramic or, if lucky, a gift certificate for OnePlus X. In honor accessory even made a moving promotional video.

And here attention!

A huge number of websites, newspapers, magazines, public, ordinary users OnePlus threw stones for such advertising. Like, they stole a slogan, and even contrived cover to cover the apple logo and pose as normal the next iPhone OnePlus, so if a company advertises a future smart phone, it has already lost.

I’ve been reading these articles, and thought – and what a smartphone OnePlus going to let that under him to bring this company, because the last OnePlus released in November? Information about the prepared new smartphone I have not found, but noticed identity photos with advertising «Think different» and demonstration photo cover for the iPhone.

“Scandalous advertising next smartphone” from OnePlus not treated this next smartphone, because it is not in sight. Advertising was created just under Case for the iPhone, which, together with, gives the buyer the opportunity to acquire more and OnePlus X, if necessary, as smartphones are sold by invitation only. Accordingly, so the slogan was chosen Apple. Of course, OnePlus thus draws attention to itself and its products, but not as many people think.

The original – yes, strange – yes, mystery, yes – but not scandalous. OnePlus simply duped hundreds of news sites.

Advertising on Instagram

Reading Time: 3 minutes

instaSome of you might have noticed that recently Instagram allowed its users to advertise. It is great opportunity for businesses that are present in social media, as Insta has over 400 million users, and therefore become one of the world’s biggest mobile advertising platforms.

Here are a few things you should know if you are interested in advertising on Instagram:

1.You can create ads by Facebook Power Editor tool or through Instagram’s Ads API partners, eg. Hootsuite.

In Power Editor you can create ad for Instagram even if you don’t have account there, however:

– ad on Instagram will show your Facebook’s fanpage name and profile photo as your Insta user name, but it’ll be grayed out and won’t be clickable,

– you have no option to answer for comments on your ad.

2. There are three types of ads you can create: Image Ads, Video Ads and Carousel Ads.

Image Ads can have 1:1 or 1.9:1 (landscape) image ratio. The caption length is up to 300 characters, however 125 characters are recommended.

There is also Call-to-action button so you can drive traffic directly to your website, not only IG account. You can choose between: Book Now, Contact Us, Download, Learn More, Shop Now, Sign Up and Watch More.

Video Ads also can have square or landscape format, and can last up to 30 seconds! I believe it is great option. I felt like in 15 seconds you can’t say/show too much, but 30 seconds are decent.

Carousel Ads are like Image Ads, but you can have several photos and swipe to see them.

3. As Instagram is Facebook-owned company it has the same targeting options – meaning very specific!

You can target by age, gender, localization, interests or even create your own Custom Audience. Custom Audience is list of people you already know, for example your clients. Facebook matches list of your customers emails with IG accounts and makes your audience. Then you can also make audience that is similar to your clients.

I would also like to show you example of Instagram ad by Maybelline and their results. Maybelline wanted to “raise the profile of eyebrow cosmetics in Australia, increase brand awareness, message association and product sales.”

As Aurelie de Cremiers, Marketing Director of Maybelline New York, said “Women are already using Instagram for beauty advice and inspiration, especially when it comes to new looks and trends. As a visual and creative platform, Instagram allows us to engage authentically with our customers while also profiling our products. It’s a great match for us.”

What were the results? Check it out.

4

“By inspiring women to consider eyebrows as part of their daily makeup routine, the campaign drove a 16-point lift in brand awareness of Maybelline Brow Drama, a lift in message association and as part of the brand’s overall media mix, achieved a 2.4x uplift on Maybelline Brow product sales.”

What do you think about advertising on Instagram? Would you give it a try for your business? Maybe you have already tried it?

I will definitely try it for my future business purposes, as Instagram has 400 million highly engaged users (this number is constantly growing), and mobile marketing is one of the most important marketing channels.
